The Estate

The story of the Mouty estate starts in 1923 at the Château du BarryDonat Mouty, in love with the culture of the Saint-Emilion’s wine, decide to get the Château du Barry.

Later and with the same passion, his son Noel Mouty takes over and goes on developping the field.

In 1973, Daniel Mouty with his wife Francoise come to the estate. They bring new life into the property management, modernizing winemaking techniques while preserving the identity of each wine.
In 1982, the Château Tour Renaissance, from Françoise Mouty’s family, come to enlarge the domain. The range then expand with the Château Rambaud and the Extrait de Rambaud, from one of the best part of the Bordeaux’s appellation.

Accessing a dream, they acquire two vineyards on the prestigious Pomerol appellation. The Château Grand Beauséjour and the Saint André are then added to the Mouty Estate.

Their children Sabine and Bertrand  are now managing the Mouty Vineyards, sustaining a family passion born 90 years ago. Sabine, a woman of action, passionate about human and Terroir values, runs also the two Guesthouses of the Vineyards, and plans many other projects to come... Bertrand, who is also a musician/songwriter, keeps creating new "Cuvées" with the will to drive the expression of the Vineyards further and further.

Aware that sustainable farming has always been practiced in the family, they lead the whole Vineyards to the organic label AB, now certified since the 2018 vintage.
